Cancellation Policy

1. Purpose

This Program Cancellation Policy is established to comply with NASBA Standard 11. Boon Tax Educators (“BTE”) is committed to providing timely communication and clear procedures in the event a scheduled program must be canceled, postponed, or interrupted.

2. Provider-Initiated Cancellations or Rescheduling

BTE may cancel or reschedule an online group Internet-based program due to:

  • Instructor illness or emergency

  • Technical platform failures

  • Insufficient enrollment

  • Unforeseen operational issues

  • Events outside BTE’s control

If a program is canceled or rescheduled:

  1. Participants will be notified as soon as possible via the email address provided at registration.

  2. Participants will be offered either:

    • A full refund, or

    • The option to transfer to the rescheduled session or a future offering of the same program at no additional cost.

3. Mid-Session Interruptions or Technical Failures

If a live webinar is interrupted due to a technical failure on BTE’s side (e.g., platform outage, host connectivity failure):

  • BTE will attempt to restore the session promptly.

  • If the program cannot be completed, participants will be provided with either:

    • A rescheduled session, or

    • A full refund.

If the interruption originates from the participant’s equipment or internet connection, refunds are governed by the separate Refund Policy.

4. Participant Notification Procedures

All cancellation and rescheduling notices will be sent via:

  • Email to the participant’s registered address

  • Additional follow-up via alternate contact information if provided

BTE maintains a record of all cancellation notifications for compliance and audit purposes.

Refund Policy

(Online Group Internet-Based Programs Only)

1. Purpose

This Refund Policy is established to satisfy NASBA Standard 12. The purpose of this policy is to clearly outline how refund requests for Boon Tax Educators (“BTE”) online group Internet-based continuing education programs will be handled.

2. Applicability

This policy applies only to fee-based live online webinars offered by BTE.
BTE does not currently offer:

  • In-person programs

  • Self-study/QAS programs

  • Nano-learning programs

If a webinar is offered at no cost, the program announcement will clearly state:
“This course is provided free of charge; no refunds apply.”

3. Refund Eligibility

3.1 Participant-Initiated Cancellations

Participants may request a full refund if the cancellation request is made:

  • At least 24 hours before the scheduled start time of the webinar.

No refund will be issued for:

  • Failure to attend

  • Late arrival

  • Technical difficulties originating from the participant’s equipment, software, or internet connection

  • Requests made after the webinar has begun

3.2 BTE-Initiated Cancellations or Rescheduling

If BTE cancels a webinar or reschedules it:

  • Participants may receive a full refund, or

  • Elect to transfer to the new session at no additional cost.

4. Refund Request Process

Participants may request a refund by contacting BTE using either method:

Refund requests must include:

  • Participant’s full name

  • Program title

  • Date of registration

  • Reason for the request

Approved refunds will be issued to the original method of payment within 7 business days.

5. Exceptional Circumstances

BTE may, at its discretion, grant refunds outside the standard policy in the case of:

  • Documented medical emergencies

  • Death of an immediate family member

  • Significant technical issues arising on BTE’s side

Such exceptions are evaluated individually and are not guaranteed.

Complaint Resolution Policy

1. Purpose
This Complaint Resolution Policy is established to comply with NASBA Standard 12. Boon Tax Educators (“BTE”) is committed to addressing participant concerns promptly, professionally, and fairly.


2. How to Submit a Complaint
Participants who have concerns, questions, or complaints regarding any BTE program may contact:

Complaints must include:
 Participant’s full name
 Program title
 Date of the program
 Detailed description of the issue or concern

3. Resolution Process
1. BTE will acknowledge receipt of the complaint within 2 business days.
2. The complaint will be reviewed by the Director of Education or designee.
3. A written response outlining the resolution or next steps will be provided within 7
business days.
4. If additional time is required due to the complexity of the issue, the participant will
be notified of the updated timeframe.


4. Documentation
All complaints and related correspondence will be documented and retained in accordance with NASBA Standard 24 (minimum of five years).
